When you create a FreePost account, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. When you publish a post, we collect the details you choose to include — title, description, category, location, price, any photos you upload, and the contact name, phone number, and email you provide for that post.
Your account email is used for sign-up and login, and to send you password-reset codes and notifications about your posts (approved, rejected, or otherwise). The contact details you add to a post are shown publicly on that post's page so people can reach you directly — please only include contact details you're comfortable making public.
Once a post is approved, its title, description, category, location, price, photos, and the contact name/phone/email you entered for that post are visible to anyone visiting FreePost, without needing to sign up or log in. Your account email and password are never shown publicly.
Passwords are stored using industry-standard one-way hashing (bcrypt) — we never store or have access to your plain-text password. All state-changing requests are protected against cross-site forgery, and login attempts are rate-limited to guard against brute-force attacks.
Your account and post data are retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual posts at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account entirely, contact help@freepost.uno.
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Post content you choose to publish is, by design, public and viewable by anyone.
We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. It's essential to the site working and contains no tracking or advertising data.
